Green thumb

One of my favorite parts of Spring, besides the end of Winter, is the opportunity to work in the yard.  I'm not talking about cutting grass and trimming hedges I'm talking about working the garden.  It takes a tough guy to plant pretty flowers!  I have really let the yard go over the past few years.  The drought of 2007 and several late frosts have cost me a lot of money in lost plants and flowers.  That along with life just being busier has led to the yard to suffer.  I hope to turn that around this year with not only several nice flower gardens but some vegetables as well.  Probably tomatoes and maybe some peppers. There is not much better than a fresh tomato pulled from your own garden.  True it takes them all Summer to ripen but it is worth the wait.  I've already begun to prune and trim in anticipation of the warmer weather. The good thing about this blog is that it keeps my honest so by writing that I am going to have a nice yard this year means that I am going to have a nice yard  Right?

Until tomorrow,
Dave
