Are you in to the winter olympics? I'm not. I missed the opening ceremonies and have caught a few minutes of speed skating, half pipe, and figure skating. These sports just don't keep my attention. The summer olympics at least has sports where the athletes compete against each other. These snow sports seem to be mostly athlete versus clock or judge. I do enjoy skiing and hockey but those will more than likely not draw me back to NBC's coverage. Though there is no swimming or track and field, the winter games do have one event I watch every four years. Curling. Yes, that game where some Canadian slides a stone down the ice while his buddies sweep in front of it. Can't you picture our friends from the north getting together on a Friday at the local rink to drink a few molsens and sweep the ice. I like to call it Canadian shuffle board. I joke about it but you know if I ever get the chance to going curling I would be all over it.
Until tomorrow,
Dave
