Home Improvement

I love home improvement. No not the Tim Allen sitcom from the 90's but the actual betterment of my home. The problem is I suck at it especially the DIY stuff. I eventually figure things out and do an OK job but my first attempt at something often leaves a lot to be desired. The thing about DIY home improvement, like DIY auto repair, if you do it right it saves you so much money. I've learned over the years which jobs I am comfortable taking a stab at and which ones I leave to the professionals. After the tile disaster of 2004 I know flooring will not be done by me again. This week I am replacing the hardware on our doors. It is going OK but as expected I've hit a couple snags. This will be a big year for small upgrades to the house so stay tuned for success stories and tales of failure.
