Eddie

The next of my personal heroes I wanted to write about is Eddie Van Halen. I became a fan almost 30 years ago. Eddie has battled many personal demons over the years and is by no means someone I would want to imitate. My appreciation of him solely revolves around his guitar playing. He inspired me to start playing the guitar when I was young and I continue to play today. I thought I would be able to play like Eddie one day but quickly realized that was not going to possible. He was an innovator and one of the most skilled players to ever live. I'm not....but I found my own style and am happy with how it has turned out.

In addition to begin a talented guitarist Eddie is a skilled song writer and composer. My first VH concert was in 1989 at the Spectrum in Philadelphia and my most recent concert was in 2012 in Greensboro, NC. Though the front man of Van Halen has changed several times Eddie has remained consistent. The glory days of the Eddie and the band are long gone but I am thankful I was introduced to this music. I introduced me to the world of guitar which will be a passion of mine through life.

Until tomorrow,
Dave
