Golf

I'm very thankful for the game of golf. When I was twelve I began watching golf on TV and decided it was something I wanted to try. My parents arranged a lesson and I was pretty much hooked from the start. My Dad also took it up about the same time so it was never hard finding a practice or playing partner. In those early days I really wanted to be a good player. I practice hard and played whenever I could. We joined a golf club so I was guaranteed at least one round of week. I was never great but got to the point where I was comfortable playing with anyone and holding my own. My game didn't improve and I would get frustrated when I didn't play well. When I went off to college and then started working my opportunities to play decreased. I missed it and my attitude changed towards the game. I still wanted to play well but I really did not care. I just enjoyed being outside on a nice day playing with friends and family. That attitude still holds today when I only get to play a handful of times a year. I hope there is a day in the future when I get to play regularly and I care about my score, but for now I just enjoy the time spent playing. Like I said I am thankful for the game as it allowed my Dad and I to spend time together. My six year old daughter has taken up the game now and I can't wait to be her practice and playing partner for years to come.

Until tomorrow,
Dave
