San Fran

I am fortunate enough to get to travel to San Francisco a couple times a year for work. I've been travelling there since 2009. On one of my first trips I remember a local telling me that people from San Francisco don't call it San Fran and look down that those who do. I appreciated the insight. I now find myself thinking less of those that call it San Fran. It got me thinking about other city nicknames. I am very confident that a real bostonian would not refer to his city as bean town. A chicagoan calling their town the windy city...don't think so. A New Yorker saying big apple...never. What about my town Charlotte. It was of course named after queen Charlotte and is often referred to as the queeen city or QC for short. Any Charlottean who said they were from the QC would be a total DB in my book.
